Number Translation Services for Regional Communications Service Provider

Our customer, a regional communications service provider (CSP), provides a full range of wire-line and wireless telephony, cable TV and internet, services to its customers based on an IP network and VNO agreements. They required a system that could provide:

  1. Multi-media (screen, voice, message-based) converged directory and information services that spans the complete range of service offerings;
  2. A range of automated and operator-assisted toll telephony services.

The Rhino-based system provides service representatives with low-latency access to a converged set of directory and information services. The information is derived from many sources, such as the local carrier listings national, international listings and premium third party content. The information may be delivered to the caller by a wide range of mechanisms including automated voice, on-screen, SMS text message and the services representative. The system utilises an IP media server to deliver spoken announcements.

The system also provides a range of automated and operator-assisted toll calling capabilities such as collect calls, emergency calls, busy line interrupt, line repair, calling card, operator assisted calling, 800 and 900 number translation, customer-specific time-of-day, day-of-week dialling rules etc.

The Rhino calling and information service platform is operational.
