Carrier-grade platform for Tango Abrazo™ Fixed-Mobile Convergence Product

Tango

Tango Networks™ is a VC-funded, Texas-based start-up, founded in 2005 to address the growing need for fixed-mobile convergence in the Enterprise. While 30% or more of corporate telecom budgets are spent on mobile phones, those phones are typically beyond the control of the organization. Tango Networks changes all that.

Tango provides a high-performance hardware and software system that connects any mobile phone, through any wireless network, with any enterprise PBX. End users get the productivity benefits of a single phone number, single voicemail and advanced PBX features on their mobile phones. Enterprises get the control and management they want and need, while service providers stay front and center in the value chain, benefiting from increased revenue, reduced churn, lower OPEX and new distribution opportunities.

The experienced telecoms professionals that founded Tango Networks evaluated appropriate platforms for their product and selected OpenCloud Rhino. The Tango Abrazo™ solution is built on a hybrid architecture, comprised of an enterprise component and a carrier component to tie the enterprise network closely with that of the mobile operator. Both these platforms are built on OpenCloud Rhino.

The Tango Networks Abrazo also provides support for publishing mobile network presence and location information for any mobile phone to unified communications systems. It enables unified communications systems to selectively share status information with contacts, enabling intelligent routing decisions for mobile phones, desk phones and soft clients, and contribute to automatic presence status determination.
