Vodafone Portugal selects OpenCloud Rhino SIS™ for Service Broking
July 2 2010,
Vodafone Portugal has selected OpenCloud’s Service Broker product to enable the seamless convergence of legacy services with new data services. Nokia Siemens Networks will provide Vodafone Portugal with OpenCloud’s Rhino Service Interaction Server™ (Rhino SIS™) to satisfy its subscribers’ growing desire for personalized services.
OpenCloud Rhino SIS™ enables the seamless convergence of legacy circuit-switched services, such as Personnel Greeting Voice services, with IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) services. Rhino SIS™ will be fully integrated into Vodafone Portugal’s existing business processes, laying the foundation for continued business growth.
Rhino SIS™ enables the integration of new real-time voice and video services into existing offerings, allows the creation of new service bundles combining legacy and new service components and so expands the range of services.
The introduction of new services to meet the demands of smartphone users in particular, presents a huge challenge to operators since most operate a multi-vendor network. OpenCloud Rhino SIS™ enables the creation of entirely new services as well as bundles of existing and new services.
Because Vodafone Portugal operates a multi-vendor network, Rhino SIS™ will substantially cut the time and cost of launching new services. It will also allow Vodafone Portugal to offer new real-time services without the need to adapt other network elements, enabling continuity with established systems such as charging and billing.
Jeff Gordon, CEO of OpenCloud said “We are delighted to have been selected by Vodafone Portugal for such an important business function. We look forward to delivering successful, innovative and revenue-generating services to the Vodafone Group”.
